Dr. Angie D. Recendez - Founder & Owner
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Angie D. Recendez’ passion to become a doctor of chiropractic started after her life changed through chiropractic care at age 18. Growing up Dr. Recendez suffered from asthma, allergies, and frequent colds which affected her ability to play sports, play with friends and live like a normal child. This lead to missed days of school and decreased immune function due to frequent antibiotic use. Chiropractic care changed her health, life, and career.

Dr. Angie D. Recendez is a practitioner who is helping people of all ages regain their health. She helps pregnant women, newborns, children and grown ups! A graduate of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Dr. Recendez has completed an additional 250 hours of training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association to better serve the health needs of pregnant women, families trying to conceive and children. While in school, she served as a leader of several clubs on campus, Campus Guides and tutored for the Neuro-anatomy class focusing on the central nervous system.

Helping people has been a passion for Dr. Recendez going as far back as she can remember. A mission trip to Lima, Peru to bring chiropractic care to the Amazon and neighboring underprivileged communities affirmed Dr. Recendez’ choice of chiropractic as her field of endeavor. It was the first time that people in the region were exposed to the positive effects that chiropractic care can have on a person (life) and Dr. Recendez was able to make good use of her bilingual English and Spanish skills. For Dr. Recendez, the experience was both humbling and motivating. She considers it an honor to be starting her career in a field that embodies her passion for helping others achieve wellness and better health.
Quote
“I am passionate about taking care of children and families! Being able to change the direction of an adult’s health is rewarding, but being able to preventatively make a difference in a child’s life is invaluable.”
Dr. Angie has the privilege of being involved in the forefront of the research, as well as developing research behind chiropractic care during pregnancy and birth. Dr. Angie is currently studying for her certification from the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (C.A.C.C.P.) and training with world renowned EPIC Pediatric. She is an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and dedicated to creating healthy families.
Dr. Josselyn Gomez Sandoval - Team Doctor
Dr. Josselyn earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. Before that, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Elmhurst College (now Elmhurst University), where she was also involved in community service through the Alpha Phi Sorority.
What inspired Dr. Josselyn to become a chiropractor was her interest in the body’s natural ability to heal, especially how important the nervous system is in that process. She believes that when the spine and nervous system are working properly, the whole body functions better. That’s what chiropractic care is all about.
Dr. Josselyn is passionate about helping people feel their best through gentle, personalized care. Her goal is to support each patient’s unique health journey with a natural, hands-on approach to healing.

Dora Gacsi - Virtual New Patient Coordinator and Team Operations Support
Ms. Dora joined the Bright Futures team at the end of 2021! Dora was born and raised in Hungary and after high school, she accepted an opportunity to be an au-pair and traveled to the United States! She has since enrolled in courses at Triton College while being a full-time Nanny. She was introduced to pediatric chiropractic care and the BFC team when she brought her client’s children for their appointments. In just a few weeks, she noticed how the kids were able to focus better, their quality of sleep increased, the constipation issues drastically decreased and in all they were more balanced kiddos.
When the family moved out of state, Dora knew she had to reach out to see if a position would be available to join the team! As you may have guessed, Dora loves playing with kids, holding babies and of course, wearing super fun (and kid-approved) shirts and socks! Working with kids and seeing all of their progress makes her heart full! She is interested in learning more about child development to help support families going through tough times.
In her free time, Dora loves to explore the city with her husband. Together they strive to maintain healthy life habits. She enjoys quick workouts, long walks, and cooking.

Emily Romero - Virtual Care Advocate
Emily has been a dedicated part of the Bright Futures team since 2022. Due to her ongoing academic commitments, she primarily works with the team virtually, but you'll also find her helping out in the office from time to time during school breaks!
Emily is currently pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. She is excited to be in the clinical phase of her program, where she gain hands-on experience and applies her skills to patient care.
Emily decided to pursue chiropractic after being fascinated by the significant impact that conservative, hands-on care can have on a person's health and ability to heal. This passion is built upon a strong academic foundation: she holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Illinois State University.
A proud Chicago native, Emily grew up on the city's Northwest side. When she isn't working with studying, Emily enjoys staying active, whether it's through cooking, exploring the local farmers market, or going for long walks.
